Series 6 Farm Debt Review Board. — 1986-1987. — 12.5 cm of textual records. – The Farm Debt Review Act was established in 1986 as a temporary response to exceptional circumstances. In the mid 1980s, unusually large numbers of farm families were being forced, by inability to meet their debt obligations, to leave farming. Farm Debt Review Boards were established in every province to handle the large number of applications in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
